Troubleshooting Dongles

Network Dongle

Single-user Dongle

Dongle not found/Dongle does not light up

More often than not, the solution to both of these problems is to either reinstall or update your Dongle Drivers. You can update your dongle driver via this website: http://www.aladdin.com

1) On this page; hover your mouse pointer over Support & Downloads and choose the option For HASP.

2) Under Enduser Downloads, choose the link HASP4

3) "UNPLUG" your dongle from the computer.

4) Choose the driver for your operating system. They will be located on the first chart down entitled HASP4 Device Driver Downloads. For windows, choose the first option on the chart under the column labeled "File", it will be labeled HASP4_driver_setup.zip. For Mac, choose the fifth option on the chart under the column labeled "File", it will be labeled HDD_Installer_MacOSX.dmg

PC: Once the file is saved to your desktop "Unzip" the file and Run the installer.

Mac: Once the file is saved to your desktop Click on the ".dmg" file and choose ASKUSB Install (DO NOT choose Forced).

5) After the install has completed, insert the dongle back into the USB slot and the dongle should light up.

6) If the Dongle does not light up after this proceedure please contact VectorWorks Technical Support.

NetHASP / Network Dongle not found

For Network Dongle issues, may have to update your NetHASP License Manager (which is installed on the server or the machine that hosts your Dongle.)

1) Unplug the dongle from the USB port.

2) Go to http://www.aladdin.com hover your mouse pointer over Support & Downloads and choose the option For HASP.

3) Under End User Downloads, choose the link HASP4

4) Choose the driver for your operating system. They will be located in the second chart down on the page entitled Latest NetHASP License Manager (LM) Downloads. For Windows, choose the first option on the chart, it will be labled HASP_License_Manager.zip. For Mac, choose the fifth option on the chart, it will be labled HASP_HL_LM_Setup_Mac_10.4.zip

5) Install the manager, then reboot the machine.

6) Insert the dongle back into the USB port.

If these steps do NOT work for you, or your NetHASP license manager machine/Dongle server are on a different subnet than your client machines, you will require an NETHASP.INI file. Please contact technical support.

Note: Aladdin's NetHASP License Manager will not work properly OSX 10.5 or 10.6 Server, it will however work on an OSX 10.5 desktop/client.
