Tech Bulletin: Vista Compatibility

VectorWorks 12.5.1 on the Vista Operating System
- The VectorWorks line of software products has achieved Works
with Windows Vista Logo Certification from Microsoft. However, there
are a few issues to be aware of when using VectorWorks 12.5.1 on the
Vista operating system:
- You’ll notice some cosmetic problems when using the
Organization dialog box to change layer and class visibilities under
Vista. We’ve identified the issues, and they will be fixed in an
upcoming maintenance release.
- You should be aware that many drivers for important hardware
components, such as video cards, audio devices, and USB ports, among
other things, may not work under Windows Vista. These drivers should be
frequently updated, especially if performance seems to be buggy.
- VectorWorks depends on QuickTime for Windows, as QuickTime is
not considered fully compatible with Vista by Apple. The QuickTime
functionality we depend on has proven reliable in our internal testing,
and we have received few reports of any difficulty from our user base.
- For customers who plan to adopt Vista, we recommend carefully
selecting hardware with good current and continuing Vista support to
minimize chances of problems related to the Vista transition.
VectorWorks Series A
- When launching VectorWorks 12.5.0, you may be prompted for an
Administrator password to resolve a permissions issue. Updating to
VectorWorks 12.5.1 will resolve this issue.

- Cosmetic issues related to using VectorWorks 12.5.x in
