When drafting 3D objects with a texture, such as bricks on a solid, the texture may not always be set to the desired scale or angle.
This problem is easy to remedy. Two settings adjust the angle and scale of textures applied to a 3D object. As an example, we can apply a brick texture to an extruded rectangle. Select the extrude and click on the Render tab of the Object Info palette. From the texture list, select a brick texture such as “Stone Brick Paver Rough.” The two Object Info parameters to adjust are Rotation and Scale.
Change the Rotation angle if the bricks should not be parallel to the ground. For example, the bricks may follow a slope’s upward angle.
The Scale parameter can be set to display the texture at different sizes. For instance, you can make a cube seem to be composed of only a few bricks, and thus very small, or composed of tens of thousands of bricks, and therefore very large.
