Handling Large .ZIP Files (Windows XP)
The ZIP file format is a data compression and archive format. A ZIP file contains one or more files that have been compressed to reduce file size, or stored as-is. On some versions of Windows, the built in decompression utility cannot handle ZIP files larger than 3.8GB. To unzip a file larger than this, you will need to use another archiver.With another ZIP archiver installed, right click on the .ZIP file and choose to open it with the correct application:
