Vectorworks Help Update 2.0 - Help Window Location
This help update removes a fix made automatically by the Vectorworks installer which sets the help window at a specific location on the screen. If this is important to you, you will need to make a minor edit to restore this location.Locate the following file:
Windows: C:\Program Files\Vectorworks 2010 Help\META-INF\AIR\application.xml
Macintosh: Navigate to Applications\Vectorworks 2010 Help. Right-click and select Show Package Contents. Navigate to Contents/Resources/ META-INF/AIR/application.xml
(On the Macintosh, you will need to change permissions first to be able to write to the file. )
Open the xml file in a text editor application. Search for the text </height> and add the following text afterward:
<x>20</x><y>40</y>
The section of the xml file will look like this:
<width>900</width><height>700</height><x>20</x><y>40</y></initialWindow>
Save the file and the help window will always open in the same on-screen location.
