Importing Image Props from legacy versions of Vectorworks

Image Props brought into a Vectorworks 2011 document from VectorWorks 12 (and older) files can sometimes render in OpenGL and Wireframe but fail to render in Renderworks modes.

To correct this, select the image prop and in the Object Info Palette under the Render tab, Click on the Texture drop down button, then select Edit Image Mask Shader.

You should see a solid black area, which is causing the image prob to render itself entirely transparent, which is why it does not appear at all in Renderworks modes. Click the Change Image button.

You should then select the same image under "Reuse an Image From Another Resource" that was listed as the texture in the Object Info Palette, for this example it is called "Walkingcouple2 texture Color"

Click OK, then click on the “Transparent Color” box and click on the background color so that the proper outline appears on the right. In this example it is a bright green:

Click OK, then in the "Edit Image Mask" dialogue box you should see the correct outline with the area to be made transparent filled in with black:

Click OK, Re-render your document in one of the Renderworks modes, you should see your image prop appear correctly:
